My wife Jenny and I.
I am currently a PhD candidate in mathematics at the University of South Carolina. My advisor is Dr. Alex Duncan, and I intend to graduate in the spring of 2024.
I am originally from Pennsylvania, but I received undergraduate degrees in mathematics and philosophy at Liberty University in Virginia. I moved to South Carolina in 2019.
Office: LeConte 413
My research is broadly in algebraic geometry, but I am particularly interested in birational geometry, Galois cohomology, Fano varieties, and Cremona groups. Recently I have been investigating automorphisms of del Pezzo surfaces over general fields.
In the Fall of 2023, I am teaching Math 111: Basic College Mathematics.
I have taught undergraduate math courses ranging from introductory college algebra to vector calculus. See my teaching page for a list of these courses.
In 2021, I taught math for secondary school students at Grace Community Academy, a small Christian private school in Columbia.
During the 2023 - 2024 academic year, I will be a peer mentor under Dr. Sean Yee through the peer mentorship program in the mathematics department at UofSC.
